Maxwell Has sights set on silverstone

By Megan Cantle

With a good haul of points under his belt from the first four races of the season, Thomas Maxwell will head to Silverstone Circuit in England this weekend (18-20 May) for the third round of the 2018 Formula Renault Eurocup.

As the only driver other than championship leader Christian Lundgaard to have scored points in every race so far, Maxwell is looking to continue his impressive run at the ‘Home of British Motor Racing’ this weekend. His best result so far came at the opening round at Paul Ricard in France, taking a good haul of points in sixth place, with a seventh-place finish to add to that last time out in Monza.

The iconic 5.891 km track is notorious for it’s high speed corners and challenging layout, making it a firm favorite with drivers from all series.

Maxwell is feeling confident returning to Silverstone - a track he knows well, and is keen to build on the momentum he has started to create in the opening rounds of the season. He hopes to add to his impressive points haul and keep his clean sheet of top ten finishes.

“I'm really excited to be back out in the car this weekend,” he said.

“Silverstone is a track I'm fairly familiar with and it's been a home to me for the years I've been in the UK."

"Feeling confident going into the weekend and looking to continue the momentum we've built up in the first 2 rounds.”

The weekend kicks off with practice on Thursday.
