Podium Finish at British f3 finale
Territory teen Thomas Maxwell has finished off an exceptional international rookie year in the BRDC British Formula 3 with a podium finish at the season finale held at Donington Park raceway. The Australian found some good form late on in the season and was able to come away with a break through podium in the final round cementing a very strong 7th place in the championship.
Thomas Maxwell: "It was a brilliant reward for everyone involved after all the hard work we've put in this season. We had very solid pace all weekend and were able to capitalise on it and get a great result and valuable championship points. Its always good to finish off on a high to help put you in a good position for the season ahead."
After qualifying 10th in wet conditions Maxwell was able to make his way up to 5th in a dry race 1. It was race 2 that the Aussie was able to capitalise on coming from 4th on the grid to snatch his first podium of the season.
Thomas Maxwell: "Qualifying was a little disappointing for us as I knew we were easily top 5 contenders in the dry, but it shows an area of opportunity that we will definitely be working on.
The teenager will now head back home to Australia for a short break before 2017 preparation kicks in.
